Mandolin repair requires a thorough understanding of the instrument. I have extensive experience repairing, restoring and setting up mandolins for comfortable and accurate playing.
Mandolin setup
Like guitars and other string instruments, mandolins benefit from periodic service. The original page recommends a setup at roughly eight-month intervals, including cleaning, care, string installation, intonation, bridge position and height, saddle work and neck-angle assessment as needed.
The aim is a mandolin that is comfortable to play and stays accurately intonated across the fingerboard.
Vintage mandolin restoration
I have worked on numerous mandolins over 70 years old that required wood restoration, color restoration, refinishing and related work. The instrument is inspected before work begins, and the inspection and price estimate are offered without charge.
