Cracks and breaks are common forms of guitar damage. They may follow a fall, extreme environmental changes or long-term wear of the wood — from a small crack to complete separation of parts.
Structural repair and restoration
Restoration may include carefully joining broken parts, internal or mechanical reinforcement where necessary, wood completion, sanding, color matching and finishing appropriate to the instrument.
The repair strategy is selected after examining the instrument and the damaged surfaces. Instrument inspection and a price estimate are offered without charge, by appointment.
Even when it looks like the end…
Guitars are often far more than objects. Many instruments carry strong sentimental value. One acoustic guitar brought to the workshop had broken into three pieces after a severe fall.
After examining the parts, the restoration included multiple bonding stages, wood completion, reinforcement, professional sanding, painting and finishing. At the end of the process, the owner found it difficult to believe it was the same guitar.
