Mandolin repair requires a thorough understanding of the instrument. I have extensive experience repairing and restoring mandolins and bringing them back to optimal playing condition.
Like guitars and other string instruments, mandolins benefit from periodic setup. The original page recommends service roughly every eight months, including cleaning, lubrication/care, string installation, intonation adjustment, bridge position and height, saddle work, neck-angle assessment and more. The goal is a mandolin that is comfortable to play and stays accurately intonated across the fingerboard.
Mandolin restoration is another service offered in the string-instrument workshop. I have worked on many mandolins over 70 years old that required wood restoration, color restoration, refinishing and additional work. Restorations are performed to a high standard and include warranty coverage for the work.
